Please Note: My entire cruise ship adventure took place at the end of January 2019 until the beginning of February 2019. I wanted to give you a full review of Celebrity Summit dining. This post has been revamped and revised to look awesome. For more escapades, check out our “Lifestyle” section.
Now Entering… Canuck Kitchen Territory
This is Canuck Kitchen, and therefore, I love food. Any time someone asks me how my vacation was, I always talk about the food first. It would be absolute insanity if I didn’t even write about the food onboard.
First, I’ll cover the Cosmopolitan restaurant, and then I’ll touch on the in-room snacks. We received these daily as a part of the Concierge Class package.
Cosmopolitan Restaurant
Our fixed dinner was nightly at 6pm in the Cosmopolitan Restaurant onboard the beautiful Celebrity Summit. We’ve always been fortunate enough to have the earlier seating, as I couldn’t imagine waiting until 8 pm to eat. That being said, these seats are totally optional. You can always head up to the buffet instead if you prefer.
The Menu
The current night’s menu was always posted at the front entrance. Although the majority of the items varied daily, they did have a section for the classics. These menu items were available every day. So if there’s a picky pants in your party, at least they have options.
Each course on the menu was labelled as gluten free, lactose free, sugar free, vegetarian, or fit fare. I love it when restaurants do this, and I think it’s awesome that it’s becoming more common. There’s guaranteed to be an option for everybody. Since everything sounded delectable, it was definitely a challenge to decide on an appetizer, main course, and a happy ending each day.
Along with our warm, freshly baked bread basket, each table was provided with 3 spreads. The centre was always butter, and the other 2 spreads varied. I tried everything from a cucumber yogurt spread to a garlic butter.
The lighting in the restaurant was a bit dim, probably to set the mood. My photos aren’t the greatest quality, so I do apologize.
Spectacular Service
Not only was the food absolutely delicious, but we also had impecable service! Our waiter, Marvin, and assistant waiter, William, were the best tag team on the ship. These two were remarkably sweet and also took the time to get to know us.
Overall Thoughts
The cuisine onboard the Celebrity Summit is flavourful and really hits the spot! They offer a ton of variety in the buffet as well as in the restaurant. New items are constantly being introduced, so there’s always something for everyone. The Cosmopolitan Restaurant is a must-try for foodies! Feel free to invite me on a future cruise. Just hit me up on social media or my contact page.
Concierge Class: In Room Snacks
Having been a part of the Concierge Class, our room received daily snacks. They arrive in the afternoon, usually around 2-3 pm. I have put together a small gallery so you get an idea of what was offered.
Maybe they felt there wasn’t enough food in the buffet and restaurant? If you haven’t already noticed, the whole point of a cruise is to eat and be merry. You may need that trolley ride at the airport when coming home. You’ll definitely have some extra baggage, if you know what I mean.
Café al Bacio – Celebrity Summit Dining
On our last day on board, we lounged around and checked out this awesome cafe. A cappuccino for me and a hot chocolate for my dad. As you can see in the photos, it was crafted with love and dedication.
